- Why is being accredited important to me?

- Will I study in Arabic or English?
ZU offers all its degree programs in English only, this requires students to provide a minimum English proficiency score upon entry. We do however, still want to ensure that we connect with the University’s roots and traditions, therefore we offer a course in Arabic Language and Culture within the Undergraduate degree programs.
- Is it true that Zayed University (ZU) has male and female students?
Yes. ZU is a co-educational university. Both male and female students are welcome on both our campuses.
- How do I get to know about the university?
In the week prior to the start of classes, all new students attend a comprehensive introduction and orientation to our university.
- Does ZU provide transportation?
ZU does not provide transportation.Transportation is arranged by yourself and we can provide information about companies to contact.
- Does ZU provide accommodation?
ZU does not provide accommodation.
- If I get admitted to ZU, could I bring my own laptop or buy my own laptop?
As a general rule students must buy their laptop through ZU, because our network, software and support are specially configured for specific models of laptops.

- Why is being accredited important to me?
Being accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, means that ZU courses are recognized internationally and are highly regarded. This means that your degree is recognized not only in the UAE, but also internationally and therefore you can get transfer credit if you study abroad and we have the highest accreditation in the UAE – CAA
- I got my high school certificate several years ago. Can I join ZU?
You can apply for admission if your high school certificate has been issued within 10 years of the admission date. However, the priority of admission is given to student who graduate from high school recently.
- I am currently a student at HCT/UAEU, can I transfer to ZU?
You are eligible to transfer to ZU if you:
- are in good academic standing (GPA of 2.25 for CACE and 3.0 for CIS)
- have a valid English score of EMSAT 1250 or IELTS of 5.5 + or an TOEFL iBT of 71+
- meet the high school admission requirements of the program you are transferring to
- Can I transfer credits from another institution?
Yes credit hours earned at accredited institutions are transferable, only if there are comparable courses at the program the student will join, the course was achieved with a grade of C or higher, and the course was completed less than 5 years of the credit evaluation date.
You must attach the following documents to your application:
- Official transcript from the other university
- Grading system and its explanation
- Detailed course outlines, including course descriptions for all subjects, completed at the other university
- I have a UAE passport but not a National ID/family book, can I apply to ZU as a national student?
Students without a National ID/family book are still welcome to apply as international students. However, you will be charged tuition fees (2500 per credit hour).
- If I select HCT or UAEU as my first choice in the NAPO application, can I later change my mind?
Yes, you can but you need to do the online transfer request from your portal on the MOE system before the preference change deadline. Please refer to the guidelines at the MOE website.
- When Can I apply?

- When and how I will be informed of the admission decision?
- By the end of July / beginning of August for Fall semester
- By end of December / beginning of January for Spring semester
- You will receive a message from the MOE followed by an email and SMS message from ZU.
- International students will be contacted individually by our Admission team.
- Is it true that ZU has male and female students?

- If I have questions or not sure about my applications, how can I contact you?

- My friend was accepted while I did not receive any feedback on my application?
Please check your application page on the MOE portal. Usually pending applications are missing one of the following:
- Missing personal documents
- Family book or passport scan are not clear or not completed
- Missing attested certificates for grade 10, 11, &12 (for non-UAE curriculum)
- Missing equivalency certificates for grade 12 or pre-conditional equivalency letter (for non-UAE curriculum)

- I am currently in military service and I do not have an application on NAPO system can I apply to ZU?
Yes, you can apply through the MOE portal when admission is open: https://adm.moe.gov.ae
- What are ZU admission requirements?

- How can I get my EMSAT Result?
Your results will be posted on your EmSAT portal. You can also email the EmSAT office at emsat.register@moe.gov.ae
- I want to change my section. What do I do?
You can only change your section during the Add/Drop week (the first week of semester) after speaking to your advisor.
- I want to under enroll. What do I do?
You need to meet a counselor in the Office of Student Life and explain why you want to under enroll and the counselor will decide and guide you.
- I want to appeal my dismissal. What do I do?
If you need to appeal your dismissal, you have to go to Office of Student life with a written appeal letter on why you shouldn’t be dismissed.
- What are my options if my dismissal appeal is not successful?
If you are not successful, then you can come back as a Fresh Start student after one semester.
- What support can I get if I encounter difficulties in my studies?

- How can I get Financial Aid?
If you are a UAE National, you may visit the Office of Student Support to apply for financial aid.
- What does Financial Aid cover?
Financial aid covers the cost of a laptop, food, transportation, and other requirements by you. (Textbooks are supplied free of cost to all students)
- What documents are needed to apply for Financial Aid?
- A completed financial aid form.
- Copy of your whole family National Identity /the birth certificate for all family members
- Copy of your Passport / birth certificate.
- Copy of documentation, indicating that an applicant has family members who are unemployed.
- Total salary certificate of your guardian or sponsor (the certificate is not to exceed three months from the date of issuance).
- Your guardian’s /sponsor’s bank statement for 3 months till date.
- The university has the right to ask you for any additional documents or to exempt from some of the above mentioned documents.
- Does ZU offer scholarships for international students?
Yes. We welcome international students and offer scholarship opportunities.
- I studied my high school years in the UAE, am I still an international student?
Yes, we have two categories for applications: UAE Nationals and International Students.
- What does a ZU Scholarship cover?
Our scholarships only cover the tuition fees, they do not cover transport, accommodation or equipment.
- When can I apply for a scholarship?
Students must have completed the ZU application on our website and be accepted before they can apply for a scholarship. Our Admissions team will be in contact to guide you through the steps/
- What is the annual tuition fee for an International Student?
The standard annual tuition fee is AED 80,000. This can also be affected by the number of credits a student studies in a semester
- How do I apply for an Undergraduate degree?
