"Zajel" to be launched before end of the semester

The Student Media Editorial Board has selected a logo for the new student media outlet Zajel which should be launched before the end of the semester.

A College of Communication and Media Sciences graduate, Amira Anwar Habib, designed the logo which features the depiction of the bird represented by zajel, the Arabic word for a carrier pigeon that was once used to deliver messages. The logo features both English and Arabic type spelling the word Zajel.

The Zajel site will be offering both English and Arabic language news articles, video clips, audio reports and social media features. It will present a networking forum for Zayed University journalism students where their ideas will be shared and assessed, and their concerns will be voiced.
