Samar Saleh Al Hammadi, a Zayed University student majoring in Accounting at the College of Business, has recently earned the “Excellence Award in Accounting & Finance”, presented by “Ernst and Young” after a three-stage fierce competition which involved outstanding participants from several Abu Dhabi based Finance institutions and colleges.

The competition organizer “Ernst and Young” is a multinational professional services firm headquartered in London with two offices in the United Arab Emirates and over 700 offices across the globe, and has organized the same competition in 2012, during which a Zayed University student “Abdallah al Riyami” was also ranked first.

Samar was granted a two-month internship at Ernst and Young’s Abu Dhabi offices, along with an iMac laptop and a certificate of excellence. She is one of four ZU Accounting and Finance female students who have participated in the competition. Her colleagues, Safeya Mohamed Al Hameli, Muzna Ahmed Mejren, and Mariam Ateeq Jumaa Al Hameli were also selected amongst 13 shortlisted students. The competition was tough and students took part in different interviews and skills tests before the Top five were announced.
