Two groups of nine students from the College of Business at Zayed University hosted a special gathering in honor of the university’s cleaning team. The event was held at the university’s female promenade in Abu Dhabi campus.

Addressing more than 60 cleaners and their supervisors, Robyn Albers, Instructor at the College of Business and organizer of the initiative, welcomed the crowd and conveyed their appreciation on behalf of the student body.

“Students have worked hard to complete this project, which is part of their business communication course.

They have been preparing for it since last September hoping to draw big smiles on the cleaning team members’ faces in recognition of their services and their hard work at Zayed University,” Robyn said. “Special thanks to Shamsa Al Taie, Director of Students Affairs, for her efforts in making this event meaningful and for being very supportive to social responsibility projects at the College of Business,” she added.

“The students did an incredible job and organized everything so perfectly. I know they worked extremely hard, but their work paid off. They have learned more than just business communication. They have learned about the strength and determination. I can surely say they have surprised themselves with their abilities. This is what feeds and creates new leaders. These students understand the strength that they have and they own the business communication skills to start their journey,” Robyn added.

The event concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates and funds that were raised by Zayed University students.

“We have raised more than Dh 20,000 so far. Putting the event together is no easy task, but it is worthwhile when we see the happiness it brings to them,” said Khadeeja Al Hammadi, a junior business student and the team leader.
