Okay, so what are the steps involved in finding a book?

Here's what you do:

    • Search the library catalog to find out if the library owns the book (or other item) you need

    • Write down its call number and note the collection as well (general collection, reference collection, Emirates collection, etc.)
    • Use this information to go to the correct shelf to find the item
    • Library catalogs may also include items found on the Web (electronic books, encyclopedias and dictionaries mostly).  For these items, go to the online location by clicking on the URL provided.
